You don’t have to know exactly what you need before reaching out.
Many of the people I work with have spent years trying to understand themselves. You may know where your patterns come from and still find yourself overthinking, questioning yourself, staying busy because slowing down doesn’t feel comfortable, or feeling disconnected from your emotions, your body, or even from yourself. You may understand your story and still wonder, “Why do I keep feeling this way?”
There is a reason.
My approach is grounded in Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR (SAFE) and an understanding of the nervous system. Rather than seeing your reactions as something that needs to be fixed, we become curious about what they learned to protect you from. The patterns that make life difficult today may have once helped you adapt, cope, or stay connected.
Healing isn’t about getting rid of those protective parts of you. It’s about helping your nervous system recognize that it doesn’t have to rely on them in the same way anymore.
EMDR is also much more than reprocessing difficult memories. We take time to understand your history, build resources for regulation and grounding, and strengthen your capacity to stay present with what arises before moving into deeper processing. Therapy moves at a pace that honors you and your nervous system.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start with where you are.
