What I’d want clients to know
You’ve built a life that looks successful from the outside, and you’re still running on anxiety, exhaustion, or a constant sense that you can’t fully switch off. If that sounds familiar, you’re the kind of person I work best with.
I’m a licensed therapist in Decatur, Georgia, specializing in EMDR and somatic-informed therapy for thoughtful, driven individuals: founders, executives, physicians, attorneys, leaders, entrepreneurs and others who carry a lot of responsibility and hold themselves to a high standard. Many of my clients come to me after years of managing things on their own. They’re self-aware and good at problem-solving, yet something keeps replaying: perfectionism, burnout, a harsh inner critic, a reaction that feels bigger than the situation calls for.
Why insight alone isn’t always enough
Smart, capable people can often explain exactly why they feel the way they do. Understanding it doesn’t make it stop. That’s because stress, old experiences, and the patterns they create live in the body and nervous system as much as in the thinking mind. You can’t reason your way out of something you didn’t reason your way into.
How I help
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps your brain reprocess experiences that are still getting stuck, so they lose their charge. Rather than talking around a problem for months, we work directly with the source of what’s driving the reaction. I pair this with somatic-informed approaches that help you notice and regulate what’s happening in your body, so change shows up in how you feel day to day, not just in how you think about it.
My sessions are focused and collaborative. I’m warm, direct, and respectful of your time and intelligence. We’ll move at a pace that feels sustainable and keep our attention on what matters to you. My goal is for you to leave therapy with more ease, steadier confidence, and the ability to perform without running on empty.
Who I work with
I see adults dealing with anxiety, burnout, unresolved stress, and the lingering effects of past experiences, particularly people who feel stuck despite doing “all the right things.” I work with a small number of clients at a time, which means you’ll get my full attention and a thoughtful fit from the start.
Where and how
I’m based in Georgia and see clients in person in Decatur or virtually anywhere in the state. I’m also licensed in California, so I can work with clients there via secure telehealth.
If you’re curious whether EMDR could be a good fit, I offer a brief consultation to talk through what’s going on and what working together might look like. There’s no pressure, just a chance to see if it feels right. You can schedule a consultation through my website.
