Sometimes you can understand why you feel or react a certain way and still find yourself caught in the same patterns. You may know an experience is behind you, but find that the feelings or beliefs connected to it continue to show up in your life. This is part of what draws me to EMDR—the possibility of change beyond knowing something intellectually.
I’m an EMDR-trained therapist working with adults navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, and significant life changes. I specialize in trauma recovery, including domestic and sexual violence, and am also certified in perinatal mental health. I’m inspired by the shifts that can happen through EMDR: a memory feeling less upsetting, an emotional response becoming less overwhelming, or a belief that has felt true for years beginning to loosen its hold.
My approach is collaborative and attachment-focused. We exposure how earlier experiences and relationships may influence what you expect from others, how you respond to stress, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself. I’m interested in understanding how those patterns developed and what you would like to be different now.
You don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly where to start. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you here, how EMDR might fit, and what would help you feel comfortable working together. I offer gentle encouragement and will sometimes invite you to stretch a little. Throughout our work, your perspective helps guide us toward changes that feel meaningful in your everyday life.
